This day holds a place in my heart not only because many of my friends and family members have been and still are in the military; but also so many men and women have continued to fight for our freedom.
Memorial Day is all about the bravery of those who have protected us and a day to remember the men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces including my Dad who is a Vietnam Veteran. This is a picture of my son circa 2005 when he visited a family friend who is a U.S. Naval officer during fleet week in NYC. That is the biggest flag I have ever seen. Let alone hanging proudly off the side of a battleship.

I ask everyone to say a prayer for all of out vets as well as all out active military.
May they all remain safe whether it is state side or over seas.

GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS FOREVER AND ALWAYS!!!

  1. Hi Rina! Just came over to your blog as we both put a recipe up on Momma Bears blog. :) I see that your dad is a Vietnam Vet and so is mine! Anyway, love your recipes and can't wait to look around for something new to try this weekend!
