Who doesn't love Christmas cookies? I usually spend about two days baking them, put them in all their tins and send them off to wherever we end up. These butter cookies have just the right amount of anise flavor plus crunchy seeds to finish them off. A perfect addition to your Christmas cookie collection of recipes.
3 sticks Butter, Softened
¾ cups Super Fine Sugar
3 whole Egg Yolks
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
3 cups Flour, More If The Dough Is Too Sticky But Don't Add More Than 1/2 Cup
¼ cups Anise Seeds, To Sprinkle On Top
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix butter and sugar together, then add the rest of the ingredients (except the anise seeds).
Roll dough into a log, wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate for several hours to overnight.
Slice dough onto rounds about 1/4″ thick. Sprinkle with anise seeds.
Bake 10 minutes until lightly browned.
